Genealogy allows us to honor our ancestors by learning and reconstructing their stories. Having 100 stories about one ancestor or family member outweights having a family tree with hundreds of names and no stories. Our ancestors live through storytelling, and we can use art to fill and navigate the questions posed by the gaps and wonderings in our research. It is the expression of our imaginations that allows us to feel, empathize, imagine, heal, and liberate.
