Dr. Prisca Barnes is an author, educator, artist, and literacy advocate. She is the founder and CEO of the children’s literacy nonprofit Storytime Village. Dr. Barnes is also a published children’s book author and illustrator. She travels the world sharing her gift of song, empowering young leaders and women, and uplifting crowds young and old with her award-winning book, People, Pride, and Promise: The Story of the Dockum Sit-in. This book tells the amazing story of the first successful student-led lunch counter sit-in.
