Mission

Provide immediate access to literary industry or culture leaders to support my client’s specific, unique needs and community or academic events to uplift young people while promoting literacy.

About Us

Say It Loud! Readers and Writers is a literary arts organization developed to support educational institutions and community-based organizations to design and incorporate innovative literary arts projects and programs. Founded in 1997, our goal was to work with educators and administrators to decrease the literacy achievement gap that hinders African American students in colleges, universities, and public schools academically and socially.

With over 27 years of experience and a known presence in the serious African-American literary world of readers and writers, Say It Loud! Readers and Writers, LLC: an education, literary arts, and publishing consultation enterprise in the fight to prioritize books in schools, literacy in society, and profitable endeavors for outstanding Black authors.

These causes are more urgent than ever. American schools fail to prepare students to compete in the global landscape. Black Americans, most delegated to underfunded and understaffed inner city or impoverished area schools, are among the most affected by this oversight.  Say it Loud! is a documented and awarded change agent in all these areas.

Currently, Say It Loud! programs and Oliver are oft-sought features in such venues for workshops, readings, and talks. Thousands of young people have been reached through in-person events, the Speak Loudly Speakers Bureau programs, and the nationwide success of our vision board guidebook for young people.

Say It Loud! Readers and Writers is a trusted name and brand in the American academic, library, and publishing industries. Although other organizations, unfortunately, did not survive the 2020 pandemic, Say It Loud! has had an increase in my brand as a media personality in such outlets as the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, WFAA /ABC (Dallas), CSPAN BookTV, KTHV-11 /CBS (Little Rock), and PBS All Things Considered.

Dear Patrick,
Thanks so much for being a wonderful muse to discuss all things literary. The 18th Austin African American Book Festival was a tremendous success, and it was because of God’s grace and because of so many smart creatives like you.
I appreciate all the connections you help us make, and for all the great youth programming you do at the festival.
God bless you to keep doing good work!
