Why Read? The
impact and development of Black readership and book purchases over the past
five years
represents six figure book contracts, multi-year deals, national tours and
media attention equivalent to big
screen movie stars and music recording artists. This results in Black books
generating millions of dollars
through retail, wholesale and distribution outlets. Recently, Third World
Press became the first Black publisher
to have a book make #1 on the New York Times Bestsellers list. [Download
